There seems to be an influx of people getting their first tattoo and not knowing what to do beforehand. So I thought now would be a good time to give you a few basic checks of what to do before you get tattooed. <\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-5-0\">Even if you have <\/span><\/span><span class=\"complexword\"><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-6-0\">multiple<\/span><\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-7-0\"> tattoos, it is easy to become complacent and forgetful, so <\/span><\/span><span class=\"qualifier\"><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-8-0\">maybe<\/span><\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-9-0\"> this will help you brush up on preparing for a tattoo<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"5pg7h-10-0\">. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"71rkv-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"71rkv-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"71rkv-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"6hhu4-0-0\">\n<h3 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"6hhu4-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"6hhu4-0-0\">Before You Walk In The Door<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"8h6ni-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8h6ni-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"8h6ni-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"27lbg-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"27lbg-0-0\"><strong>Eat: <\/strong><span data-offset-key=\"27lbg-0-1\">The first question I ask anyone before they sit down is, &#8220;Have you eaten recently?&#8221; This is because a lengthy tattoo can deplete resources from your body, and people pass out. ALWAYS eat a good meal within 2 hours of <\/span><span class=\"passivevoice\"><span data-offset-key=\"27lbg-1-0\">being tattooed<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"27lbg-2-0\">. Please and thank you.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"3m59s-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"3m59s-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"3m59s-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"a435b-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"a435b-0-0\"><strong>Fluids: <\/strong><span data-offset-key=\"a435b-0-1\">Please, Please, Please hydrate. No only is this going to make my job a lot easier, but your skin will be able to handle longer sessions. Not to mention how it will help the healing process. In the words of my former Drill Sergeants, &#8220;Drink water!&#8221;<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"7nkcv-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"7nkcv-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"7nkcv-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"1snvb-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"1snvb-0-0\"><strong>Work With Your Artist: <\/strong><span data-offset-key=\"1snvb-0-1\">You would think this could go unspoken, but make sure you and your artist are on the same page. Do not leave anything up to question. <\/span><span class=\"hardreadability\"><span data-offset-key=\"1snvb-1-0\">If you have questions about the piece you are getting, aftercare, cleaning practices, or anything else, ask<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"1snvb-2-0\">. Make sure there is a clear understanding of everything. We are willing to answer your questions, but we cannot read your mind.<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"9pii2-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"9pii2-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"9pii2-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"1lqv7-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"1lqv7-0-0\"><strong>Stretch: <\/strong><span data-offset-key=\"1lqv7-0-1\">You might be sitting for a length of time. This will help your comfort level. Stretch it out, go for a walk, burn off some energy, avoid caffeine. Whatever it is that you need to do to be able to sit without the urge to move. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"78h2r-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"78h2r-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"78h2r-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"eseal-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"eseal-0-0\"><strong>Have Some References: <\/strong><span data-offset-key=\"eseal-0-1\">Again, we aren&#8217;t mind readers. It is <\/span><span class=\"adverb\"><span data-offset-key=\"eseal-1-0\">totally<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"eseal-2-0\"> cool if you want to leave your design up to our interpretation as artists. But if you want something specific, make sure you can show us what that is. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"ag0pc-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"ag0pc-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"ag0pc-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"avang-0-0\">\n<h3 class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"avang-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"avang-0-0\">What You Shouldn&#8217;t Do<\/span><\/h3>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"fdbnv-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"fdbnv-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"fdbnv-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-0-0\">Drugs are bad mmmkay? So don&#8217;t get high or go out drinking <\/span><span class=\"adverb\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-1-0\">heavily<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-2-0\"> the night before. Not only is that tattoo going to hurt more and be harder to apply, but it will affect your healing process as well. And if you have been drinking a lot of alcohol, it will have thinned your blood and we may refuse to tattoo you at all. So don&#8217;t do it. <\/span><span class=\"qualifier\"><span data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-3-0\">Just<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"2ugtg-4-0\"> don&#8217;t. <\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"877qq-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"877qq-0-0\"><span data-offset-key=\"877qq-0-0\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"\" data-block=\"true\" data-editor=\"3tmbe\" data-offset-key=\"8jifo-0-0\">\n<div class=\"public-DraftStyleDefault-block public-DraftStyleDefault-ltr\" data-offset-key=\"8jifo-0-0\"><span class=\"qualifier\"><span data-offset-key=\"8jifo-0-0\">I think<\/span><\/span><span data-offset-key=\"8jifo-1-0\"> that should do it for now.
